what card would max out my setup?

I know I am new but I hope to be active so please don't flame. Thanks!

So here are my specifications currently:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 945 Processor OC @ 3.6 Ghz
Memory/Ram: 12GB DDR3 1333 Mhz
Motherboard: M4A88TD-M
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit

I have a graphics card but its a sapphire 4670 and I need an upgrade for those new games coming out and the ones currently out.

So what would be a good card that would MAX out my current specs and get GREAT gameplay for under 250$. I will probably OC the card too.

Go for one with an aftermarket cooler. You'll get better fps and less noise.

EDIT: EVGA 506Ti DS, MSI Twin Frozr II. Try to find those

A used GTX480 sells for around $250 and is a great card for its selling price. Has enough power to max most games no problem.

With $45 rebate card brings it down to a very appealing price.

Your CPU is far from being maxed out. The limit is the budget of US$250.
Reading the study below and you will see that the Phenom II X4 at 3.6GHz is far from being maxed out by a graphics card, generally speaking

So, with around US$250, you can have:-
a. all 1GB versions of HD6950 and even some 2GB versions
Eg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102945

b. all 1GB versions of GTX560 Ti
Gigabyte: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125369
MSI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127578
