I've heard that noise is from a capacitor going bad

Edit: But to answer your question, Intel stated that 1.55v +/- 5% (approx 1.58v) is the maximum safe limit, although plenty of people seem to be running 1.65v without any issues.
I understand I can increase the ram voltage up to 1.55v but still GSkill promised it would run 1600MHz @ 1.5v so I hope its just bad ram since I can buy another set fast while going through RMA on my current one.

The buzzing stops when I shut my speakers...

You're probably thinking of the 'whine'. Different thing.

It can be, but the static noise he is hearing is coming from the speakers. I experienced it first hand when editing video with the volume cranked up... almost went deaf it was so loud.

You said already that stock gpu settings you get no noise. Wouldn't that prove an unstable OC on the GPU?

And it should run at 1600MHz @ 1.5v, but you should at least try my 1333MHz suggestion. If it runs fine at 1333MHz then it's most likely something isn't being set right by the BIOS (incorrect voltage, wrong subtiming, etc).

Perhaps your problems come from two different and unrelated sources. The sound might be from your onboard sound being broken and the freezing might be from the oc'ing. But then again this is a complete guess. If you have a sound card lying around try to use that and see what happens.

Will try your suggestion, the problem exist even with manual stock timings are set. Oh and is it normal to have 1.5v (1.488v) on auto voltage when using XMP? I read some stuff on the GSkill forum on related topics and the admins keep suggesting to use XMP for maximum compatibility.

The problem there is you're only setting stuff like CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS, and the CR. There are dozens of other subtimings which may be causing your problems.

If the XMP profile calls for 1.5v, then that's normal.

XMP profiles for sockets 1366 and 1156 are usually 1.65v and AM2/AM2+/AM3 can call for 1.8v. Socket 1155 has a much lower ram voltage tolerance so you'll see ram kits "designed for P67" that are supposed to run 1.5v XMP profiles.

Ok for the graphics card, I tried using stock clocks (732/1464/1900) with 1.025v along with ram on XMP and the system still froze with buzzing. Next I removed my cpu OC (3.3GHz without turbo) with vcore still on 1.26v, gpu still at stock and ram still on XMP. This time the system just shut down by itself instead of freezing.

Finally I set my ram to 1333MHz with auto timings/voltage and the system doesn't freeze anymore. I applied my cpu and gpu OC back and its still good! Does this mean I have a defective ram?
