In the market for a phone...

Thread Starter
Hello, I am in the market for a phone (android preferably) for around AU$200 (220 max). I would like it to have a good multitouch screen larger than 3.6", have 3G capabilities, and be good enough to run basic 3D games I know this could be a big ask. If there isn't such a phone, could you reccomend one for me?

Thanks in advance

~ Evil

You just described basically every smartphone made in the last 2 years.

You could probably get an HTC Desire, Nexus One, or a Motorola Droid/Milestone for under/around $150, but I'm not sure with the carriers and all.

If you can import a phone from the US and unlock it then I would recommend it, since people are basically using their old smartphones as toilet paper over there, and their dollar is pretty weak right now.

As far as new phones go, the only one in your price range would probably be the INQ Cloud Touch, but you'd be better off buying a second hand.

Agreed. Go with a second hand Nexus One. Don't make the mistake I did and buy a wildfire. Never. Again. Must. Anyone. Make. This. Mistake.

Possibly, but kinda looks like something from an unknown brand. You could probably get better ones from HTC, Samsung, etc. than this one. Nexus One is a fantastic option; get it.

That's basically a Chinese INQ Cloud Touch. 600MHz ARMv6 with 256mb of ram and you'll be lucky if you can run Angry Birds. Plus the battery is small and the screen is low res. It probably won't even last a day on a full charge.

Don't even bother. You'd be much better off with something like this:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motorola-...ht_2538wt_1139

or maybe even an HD2:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Black-HTC...#ht_710wt_1139

Its unlocked and works on Aussie 3G bands. Its Windows Mobile 6.5, but you can install Android on it fairly easily. With Android on it its basically a Desire HD with a slower GPU.
