And since you cannot spend too much and want the best for the money, CM V8 and Corsair H50 are both 'over-qualified', IMHO. They can do the job nicely but they are just not the best bang-for-buck cooler that you are going after.

Now, the CM 212+ has always been the best cost-to-performance cooler. IMHO, it offers 70-80% thermal performance of a top end cooler at about 30-40% of the cost. However, let me introduce 2 competitors:- Corsair A50 and A70.

Thermal Performance consideration
Out of the box, a stock A50 can beat the a stock 212+, with both coolers having single fan. But the 212+ can be equipped with a second fan while the A50 cannot. With this 2nd fan installed, 212+ will beat the A50.
However, a stock A70 comes with 2 fans and it can beat the 212+.

Price consideration
Newegg is selling 212+ at US$30 with $3 shipping as of this moment.
However, A50 is selling at US$15 (after MIR) with free shipping while the A70 is selling at US$21 (after MIR) with free shipping. With these prices, they both beat the 212+.

212+: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
A50: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181012&Tpk=corsair%20a50
A70: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181011&Tpk=corsair%20a70

Conclusion
212+ has always been the best cost-to-performance ratio cooler. The new comers A50 and A70 can challenge it and win with the above prices. Any one of these 3 coolers will cool your Athlon II x2 255 at 4GHz nicely.

*chokes myself* Dude, the 212+ now is on newegg for 50$. It's a rip off if your paying 50$ for a 10$ made cooler. The highest I'd ever pay for that cooler is 30$.

Get the H50/H60/H70/H80/H100 IMO.

That's good. I don't get why people sware the 212+ over the Hydro series coolers. They do better anyways. I need to get rid of my H50 and grab an H60/H70/H80.

I have already stated the H60 is purchased. I don't even have it yet, and I am very happy with the purchase. 61.99... Not bad for an H60?
