The point is not whether 1KW is 'enough', because clearly it is more than enough.

The point is that the HX1000 is a 'special case', because unlike pretty much any other PSU on the market, it's physically two power supplies (in this case, 500W each) in one casing.

Thus, safely hooking up two high-wattage cards like 580's in SLI requires the wiring to be done correctly so that you don't end up accidentally trying to run your entire rig running off of one of it's 500W PSU's.

EDIT: Paras, did I not already explain all this to you via PM the other day? Why do you PM me and ask me stuff when you're just going to turn around and ask the same question on the boards anyways

Well I don't have an HX1000 PSU so I'm not sure how its wired (I know about it being two 500W PSU's basically), but I would assume that the modular cables would be set up in such a way as to ensure that only one of the PSU's hooks up to each graphics card. Could be wrong though...

I think your talking about the the 2 gb card and the 3 gb card right??
If that is the case and you only game with it than no it's not worth it. But if your going to do high end graphic design than I would say yes. Most game use less than a gb of memory.

Split the cards up, one each rail, one the v1 and one on v2.
