Sue: Hello Guest. Welcome to LG Electronics! How may I provide you with excellent service today?
Guest: Hi sue i recently purchased the 32LV3400 tv...on LG's website there is no information other than on the m.lg.com site. It says its 1080p but from other sources it is only 720p can you tell me which it is
Sue: Let me see what I can do to assist you with this.
Sue: It is 1080p from the HDMI source

She's reading from the specs.

Trust me - it will receive 1080p but it will "process" the image to 720.

Letme ask u this do u think at 32 inches it would be worth going to a 1080p set. The spot i have mine can only hold 32. Would it be hard to see the difference on this size?

Yes, it would be very hard to see the difference....it's not worth paying a premium for 1080p on a set this size. You'd be better off paying more for a 120hz refresh rate or an extended warranty.

It clearly states on their website that the LG 32LV3400 has a panel with resolution of 1920 x 1080.

yes i know that also but i talked to 3 different support people that stated that their website is wrong and its only 720p but will accept a 1080p signal. Its stupid they put no info on the box nor anywhere on the tv.

They also told me the tv is a walmart only exclusive.

I Just recalled for my 4th time a diff lady said its 720p native bit will take a 1080p signal and it uses a overscan feature to output the signal. She said her spec sheet shows the tv is a 1,000,000:1 contrast not 3,000,000:1 shown on the site. They arr having a site support update the site tp correct the informatioq

Yeah, I made a mistake in my post....I had the price I paid on my mind versus the advertised price for the LCD they had on display ($329 or whatever it was). I didn't get a discount, although I for a moment I thought the guy checking me out was going to manually punch in the price for the LCD. Paid the full $378.

In regards to the 720p deal....odd that LG lists it on their website as 1080p yet Walmart lists it as 720p. Don't know which to believe (I haven't gotten to setting it up yet). The box doesn't even mention that it's an HDTV, let alone whether it's 1080 or 720. But that is not a problem.....from all the research I've done, with a set this size you won't be able to tell and I can confirm this as Walmart had two sets on display running HD programming, one was 1080 and one was 720 and I couldn't detect a sharper picture in the 1080 either standing close up or about 10 feet away.

Don't go by what they display at the store, most of the time it is not quality.

I owned a 720p and this 1080i picture on the 32LV3400 is a big difference. If I were you, I would check your cable box, mine is a new xfinity one and it was setup wrong.

In my opinion i looked at alot of tvs. I could not find a 32 inch 1080p with these specs thats s-ips anywhere for this cheap. All i could find were720p sets. I cant tell u if there is better for this price but this set is fantastic. Amazing quality detail and colors

I agree, you will not find anything near this price with these specs and size, plus it is super slim.

Don't bother looking around, I did and I could not find anything to touch it.

I am glad I stumbled on it by mistake.

yes im sure it was...it was a walmart label with the price on it...the LG box it self does not say anything

Yes, walmart must have put that on.

They do not know what they are selling, the lack of box info does not help them. You would think in the internet day they could figure it out. Big loss for them.

If you want i can post my settings when i get home.

I have done alot of calibrating and most sets are adjusted for store display.
