I wish we could too, but if it is not and some technology is involved, it is still worth it.

The picture is too good at this price for me to bring it back. You wont find anything much cheaper with a better pic. I know, I brough some home and hated them and they went back. I don't care if it is 720P, my eyes say different.

I don't wear glasses.

Putting the 1080p v. 720p issue aside for a moment....does your set lose some brightness when you move away from a dead-center view of the panel? I'm not talking about the washout that one would see with an old TN computer monitor, just that the picture gets a bit darker. Maybe it's an LED thing (first one I've owned).

No, it doesn't.

I own both a regular LCD CCFL backlit LG and this one we are talking about.

I see the effect you are describing on my regular LG LD450 LCD display, but not this one.

Strange thing happened, it recommended 1360X768, but it accepted a 1920X1080 resolution.

So I was curious and hooked my pc up to my 47" LG LD450 and my pc recommnded 1920X1080.

So, LG customer service may be right. If this is true, no matter how good the set looks, I based my purchase on the specs on their website before I bought it and I would not be too happy about being dupped.

At the time I bought it the walmart store nor the walmart website had any info to go by, If I were to know I probably would not have bought two of them.

Mine does not lose any brightness even from the very side of it 12ft away.

Like I said, my other regular LCD LG does though.

Not sure why, but my viewing angle is very wide and I do not lose brightness.

Like i said the lg customer service told me that the set is 720p native. Thet also told me it is 1,000,000:1 contrast and not the 3,000,000:1 as stated on their site. I also noticed the webpage to the lg 32lv3400 for the lg.com link is no longer up. It wont work for me.

I talked to 4 diff reps they all said the same thing. I noticed they have the set on display at walmart now it says 720p on the tag and says 1,000,000:1

BTW: It should be opposite. With LED and a true IPS panel you should not get that effect.

IPS panels (which this is) should not lose brightness.

If you are talking about what I think you are seeing, any monitor with get darker ? or look different off center. Any monitor with change with viewing angle to a point.
