If you google "LG panel lottery" (if you weren't already familiar with this) you'll see that last year they were shipping some sets with IPS panels and some with other panels (VA or whatever) even though they were advertising the models as IPS. People were taking magnifying glasses and looking at the pixel pattern to make sure. Totally misleading on LG's part.

I was and mentioned it a few pages back. That is how I am familiar with it as I was curious about my LD450, which does have a IPS panel. I think it is terrible they would play that game.

I am also not happy about thinking this tv had Dynamic Contrast of 3,000,000:1 and is 1,000,000:1.

Again though, the picture looks so great, my eyes are not saying they got ripped and see a 720P image. It looks 1080i, it looks fantastic.

Still, I don't like being dupped.

Thanks for the heads up, I would never have believed it without you questioning it and checking for myself and others calling CS. The image looks so good it was hard to believe.

Why put so much technology into making it look 1080 and just make it true 1080 native ? I cannot imagine they cut that much money and having a IPS panel in it. It still blows away any 32" 720P I looked at in 4 stores.

I thought for sure being Infinia Borderless (suppose to be their high end product) it was 1080p native. frown.gif

If so, then I'll be relieved that it's not a figment of my imagination. At first I thought it was the set's eco-saving feature that will adjust the back light but I turned that off (the eco-saving thing, not the back light).

Yes, the auto dimming is annoying, but neat. smile.gif

I am a bit disappointed but one thing i can say is for a 720p set combined with s-ips it does give one amazing picture. For what i paid im not going to complain. I have been reading the last 2 days and asking around alot about 720p and 1080p and everyone has been telling me at under 40 inches u will have a hard time telling the difference

Im going to keep it and use it on my consoles and so far im happy. Its a shame that lg is not on the bal with correct info

Sorry to post so much, just alot to say on this matter.

I took back a Toshiba 1080P 40" HDTV I got on clearance for $400 to get this LG TV.

The Toshiba was a terrible looking set, made peoples skin look cartoonish and the speakers were like an AM radio, terrible set. Too bad as it was a great deal for a 40".

I agree, I am keeping both of mine. It is a shame LG is so unorganized that thery would put such incorrect specs across the board on their website and nothing on the box. Let people believe what they are buying is accurate info.

I came home, researched it and based my purchase on their website. That makes me angry.

I still think LG makes a great product for the price, they blow away alot of competition. But what they did is terrible and they should offer something for the screwup.

That is pretty bad having such incorrect info on their site. Even worse being tipped to it and still leaving it there.

I will check out Just Scan.

Can anyone help with the just scan feature? For some reason my set has it disabled (I can check all the other aspect ratio options, but that one is faded and I can't check it). Maybe it has something to do with a setting on my cable box.

And just to add - for those who would be interested in purchasing this set I don't want to make it like this isn't a real good tv. As I mentioned in my layman's review, it's got a great picture, the sound is good considering most of these small sets have tinny, crappy sound and for gamers there is no discernible input lag....my PS3 looks great on it. For $378 for a 32" you'll be hard-pressed to find a set with this quality (even if the specs on LG's website are erroneous).

Well guys after further thinking i have decided earlier today to return the tv. It was a great tv but the 720p and 32 inches just didnt cut it for me. Easily felt ripped off at lg for all the misinformation on the set.

Grabbed a 42 in 1080p tv and i am now more then pleased even tho it cost 200+ more. Good luck if ur keeping it
