Deciding between two cpu coolers

Thread Starter
Hello,

I am in the process of building a new rig. I am having a tough time deciding on which cpu cooler to go with because there are so many mixed reviews. Can anyone give me some advice on what my best option is please? I will be cooling a 2600K that will be overclocked only by using Asus TPM so I am guessing it will somewhere in the ballpark of 4.6 ghz.

The two I was looking at were the Corsair H60 (Push/Pull) vs the hyper 212 plus. I know there totaly different, and that's why I am here... need some help finding the most effective at the best price point. (recommendations do not need to be limited to one of these two)

Thanks for your time.

What are your priorities?

Obviously the H60 will cool a little better than the 212+, but at a fair price.

With good investment in two powerful and silent fans the 212+ can be quite a formidable little beast.

My priorities would be both to keep the CPU within a safe range when it sits around 4. ghz, and also to remain quieter. At a ~50 price range, is air cooled going to give me a the better bang for the buck? The thing that the 212+ worried me the most about was having something that large hanging from my mobo and over time applying too much pressure to it. Probably not a big deal, but this is my first build and I want to make sure I dont let the smoke out.

with 2 proper push pull fans on the h60 it will beat 212 plus.
I really think 212 is overrated. yes its a decent cooler but people compare this with top end air coolers and hydro series, like really?
I personally used both coolers and h60 is better by far.
im currently sitting 4.5ghz 1.31 vcore and full load of prime 95 at 59c with an ambient of 25C. never even tops 65c with an ambient of 30-31 c. yes i said 30-31 c

Thanks! Do I need a specail fan for the pull, or can I just use the fan I have in place when I replace it with the fan that comes with the H60?
