msi n580gtx lightning xe "upgrade"?

simple question: is it worth it to "upgrade" to the lightning xe?

i am currently running what's in my sig rig (single reference 6970, single 1080p monitor). i mostly play bad company 2, starcraft 2, gta4, wow, and some other less demanding games. i am planning on getting swtor, dead island, batman ac, bf3, among others coming out later this year. i prefer not to run sli/xfire. i am looking for a more powerful, single-gpu option. i understand that the extra vram isn't the best use at the resolution i play at right now, but that could change down the road with newer games. i do not ever plan on running multiple monitors down the road, but i am considering getting a dell u3011. from some of the reviews i've read about the xe, bc2 performs slightly better than the 1.5gb lightning at 1920x1200. i would try to sell my 6970 for ~$300 shipped. the xe is ~$600. so the cost for this "upgrade" is around $300. i've also read the xe overclocks well and is considerably more powerful than the 6970 lightning. i am not biased between either amd or nvidia, i've owned both in the past. drivers were/are not an issue for either company for me as well. thanks for your input.

Probably not but only you can decide that. The difference wont be max settings really just a few FPS that I doubt you will see.
