Is the Das Standard Model S Professional Keyboard worth the price? ($137) There having 15% off and my G15 is starting to show its age so I figured why not move up the comfort.

You can't go wrong but it's up to you if it's worth it.

Found it even cheaper: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Das-Keyboard-DASK3PROMS1-Professional-Wired/dp/B003M567V6/ref=sr_1_11?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1312142779&sr=1-11"]Amazon.com: S Professional Keyboard - Wired: Electronics[/ame]

Was wondering since it isn't on the mechanical keyboard guide.Says it is comparable to a IBM model M so it's on there.

DAS has great build quality and is one of the better brands for mechanical, I have one myself and can personally vouch for its quality.

If you are a student you can email them a picture of your student ID and get one for 100bux and free shipping, you can probably even find a student ID picture off google and photoshop your name in as well.

Darn I think my college does have I.D. cards, yet I don't have one since they aren't mandatory. Thanks for the info about the deal!

I'm using the keyboard right now. Since you're new to mechanical keyboards, there's not too much to tell you about the feel or switches.

But you can't go wrong with Das Keyboard. They're one of the more reliable brands of mechanical keyboards. Both, Newegg and the manufacturer have great return policies so if you find yourself unsatisfied with the product, you could always return it.

lol think I threw those away a long time ago, wonder if a student email would suffice? If that did work in some case would I be able to get the discount after already purchasing it through Newegg?
I doubt it since you didn't order directly from them.
