Yeah, the Das is glossy. If you don't like that, you should go for a . That's what I did, and I couldn't be happier with it.

Yes, the frame of it is glossy, the keys are not.
The num, caps, and scroll lock LEDs are decently bright. Bright enough to see them clearly in the dark but not bright enough to distract you.

Example ^ That is my Das Ultimate [MX Blues] and I highly recommend it if you are a good touch typist. Passwords can be a real pain sometimes without having any markings...

Yes, the frame is glossy, but not obnoxiously so. I find that my fingers don't land there often so it doesn't really get many finger prints. However, it does show dust easily. Just wipe the outside once in a while and it will stay looking slick.

As for the blue LEDs, I think you will be disappointed if you are looking for a back-lit keyboard. I believe they are referring to the indicators for "Capslock", "Numlock", and "Scroll Lock". They are pretty dim, but bright enough to serve their purpose. Of course, they won't light up the keys for use in dark rooms.

I previously owned a Logitech G110 (newer version of the G15) and I now have a Deck "The Legend" tactile and a Das tactile. You will not be unhappy with the Das for sure. The force required to press they keys is perhaps a bit less than the G15, but not unpleasantly so. It is very quiet, but you will hear the keycaps strike the back of the board when you type. Once you use mechanical keyboards, there's really no going back. The cheap rubber domes never feel right anymore.

If there is one thing I could change about my Das keyboard, I would increase the force required to actuate the keys slightly. My Deck uses Cherry MX white switches which are the same as the browns used in the Das except you need to push them harder. Depending on your primary use of the board, you might find the Das brown switches a bit too "light" - but it is really a pleasure to type.

Enjoy!

I think I am going to hold off guys. I really dont like the glossy look. If it was matte black like the keys, I would have my order in. So I am going to go ahead and make my previous order, and look into some Filco and Ducky keyboards. Any more suggestions??

I would have been really upset if I would of bought a 130 dollar keyboard and it came out glossy. It would be the only glossy item near my desk.

Thanks for the pictures and info guys, you just saved me a lot of hassle.

All things considered, I still went with the Das despite the glossy edge. Keep in mind that the keys themselves are not glossy. It's just a deep black gloss frame - almost like an accent. It's not annoying. I don't normally go in for the gloss myself but this is fine. I would choose Das over Filco and others depending on the purpose.

If you plan to use the keyboard in the dark, check out Deck. Mine is simply the best keyboard I've ever owned. It beats Das in every aspect hands down. They are pricey though. I did a review here: http://www.deckkeyboards.com/

I just took a picture of my Spring schedule and they accepted it fine. They are pretty lenient when it comes to handing out 20% off codes.

I could do that ^ but I didn't order from them directly so I doubt I can get it cheaper.
