I'm using the 780 beta drivers, so that could be part of the problem.
I'll downgrade and try some different drivers when I get home from work.

I was running at stock for my card (816). I'm going to try some more runs later tonight with different drivers and clocks to see how the results are affected.

Without a no-tess run to compare it to, that doesn't tell us much.

I'm a bit confused as to what these numbers are supposed to help us discover. After reading the article and the OP, I just don't really get it. May somebody please elaborate?

Well we know the number of tessellation units each Fermi card has, but we don't know exactly how that translates into performance, comparatively speaking. Hopefully this will shed some light on the subject!

Oh, I think I see where you guys are trying to get to now. Just one question though: If you're going to benchmark to test tessellation solely, wouldn't it make more sense to have everything at the lowest settings?

Well since the results are all relative, I'm not sure that it matters. If we were somehow testing for absolute tessellation performance, I would agree, but this is really just measuring how heavily different levels of tessellation impact each card.

Unless there is a compounding performance penalty from using the Heaven 2.5 defaults (high shaders/4x aniso etc) along with tess, it shouldn't skew the results. Correct me if I'm wrong though. This is all theoretical after all

Wow, another perfect 32%. I think we can cement the 470's performance as far as this test goes. TY for the benches!

So I ran this with SLI at the stock clock for my Lightnings (832MHz).

Tesselation Disabled:

Tesselation Extreme:

As you can see, I took quite a hit from Extreme:

85.3/125.3 = 68% of Disabled Tesselation score, or a drop of 32% (if my math is right).
