Socket Amd2/am2+ dual core

Know anyone where i can get one for like $10? Other than ebay.... of course

Well, Craigslist buddy biggrin.gif - you can even find them here in the marketplace for a good price. But, I recommend you grab yourself a cheap Video card for your current system (something like a 8800GTS 640MB, or a 8800GT 512MB off of craigslist),

Craigslist works for cheap dual cores actually, though you may have to wait for such a deal. I actually did get an AM2 dual core once for $10 on there (Athlon x2 3600+ 1.9Ghz, serves now in my HTPC at 2Ghz with underclock and was a great upgrade over a Pentium 4). I know another guy in Ferndale Washington recently selling a top end AM2 Athlon dual core (the 6400+, though it's a massive 125W TDP it was a winner back in 2004-2005 or so) for $10.

Occasionally (but rarely, don't get your hopes up) someone may give out parts for free. Lately I got an 8800GTX 768MB and it was totally free, from someone in downtown Vancouver. I'm sure such giveaways would be present in the big market of metro San Francisco.
