I don't like their methods, or their ways of business. It's extremely foul play from my perspective as a consumer. I don't 'let companies grow' companies should give me options. Had they competed fairly, and offered incentives or specials such as pricing it cheaper than Steam~ that'd have been the way to go.

This though? This is just bs to me. I'm sorry.

They did give you choices, its just that steam is not one of them; like you said u got it from D2D. Lets face it, if it was offered for steam you would have bought it from steam not origin. Valve and Blizzard does the same thing. I wanted it to be on steam too, but accusing EA for not competing fairly when valve and blizzard does the same thing is outrageous.

I can see this happening. Steam is a huge profit motive for EA to not capitalize on. They are trying to push Origin however so I could definitely see it being a timed exclusive.

No one is accusing EA of playing unfairly there accusing EA of not supporting there products further down the road how hard is that to understand, not to mention the software is awful in its current state. Every company has a right to market their product however they want but EA is very poor at supporting their product down the line, unlike steam.

Codemasters shut down their GRID servers recently. This kind of thing happens all the time, to games that hardly anyone plays online. But wait, we were talking about being able to download the games from Origin and Steam long after we've purchased them. Where's the proof that EA have done that or will do that?

That's a massive leap and an unfair one. Developers and Publishers have to close down game servers all the time. It's a sad and unfortunate turn of events, but it happens to everyone (I wish they'd all give out a server SDK and perhaps rent them out to dedicated users when they do decide to close down).

They are shutting down master servers, not dedicated hosts. If it were actual dedicated servers I would agree with you, but that is not the case.

The master server hosts a database of game servers and provides that data to clients when they request it (the server list you have in game). Running the master server is peanuts compared to a single dedicated (or even client-side) host.

They don't have to shut down anything - they choose to.

The pun obviously was intended why would you say it otherwise!
