Agreed origin crashes about every 3rd game i have tried with the alpha, EA is not known for solid software anyway, how many countless game studios have they destroyed I think its already showing with dice as bf3 seems to be leaning towards being very console orientated meaning dumbing it down for the kids

You can only activate Steamworks game on Steam, Valve has no reason to let you activate BF3 on Steam as it doesn't make them any money and will only cost them bandwidth.

Your going to judge a game by its alpha eh? Keep it up, less ignorance on the servers

steam does have a skinning function. you know that right?

I'm not judging fan boy I'm stating the obvious... I have played more alphas and betas than u can probably count to and none have been dramatically different from the final release, If 3d spotting and it been confirmed there will be no commander and 4 man squads how is so much more team orientated than or more simulation than COD?its not its a dumbed down console version of what should be a very team orientated bf2 sequel, did you even play bf2? This is shaping up to be bc3 which is fine in its own right but its not going to be king of the multiplayer hill with arma 3 or modern warfare coming out. I mean there marketing was stating its a battlefield simulation game and with those said features already making it very noob friendly, am i not supposed to be disappointed when i was looking for something different from COD or the console type game play of bc2? I would be loving it if they called it bad company 3 than i would expect these features but for bf3 not so much.

You are awful ignorant. The reason people like steam is because they can just buy a game, without having to get up an go somewhere. Because you can see which of your friends are online playing.

In the DOS days, this didn't matter, because there was no online gaming, and downloading games from the internet wasnt reasonable then.

Personally i dont care, all i do is click on a shortcut in my games folder and the game loads. How it got there is of no matter to me, but steam is very convenient because its widely used, downloads updates for me, has a large support base and a large community, my friends use it. Not to mention that steam usually has great deals. Pluus by buying steam games that means valve has more money to buy donuts for gabe pour into ep 3.

Damn man, being a little hard on the guy aren't ya? Calling him an idiot was a little over the top.

Anyway, I don't care what it comes on myself. I'd prefer steam, simply because all my games are already through them, but I don't care if I can't get it through Steam either. Steam is only popular because it was the first to have commercial success. If Origin or any other DD came out first, everyone would be harping about it being the only and best to use.
