Well in my last post I was at 4.5 ghz but I decided to drop it down to 4.2.. would overclocking @back to 4.5 be worth it.(temps and voltages are higher at 4.5)

Not certain but I wouldn't think so. Depends on how much higher.

Depends what you are doing and how much higher the temps/voltages get. If they are still within safe limits, then sure it's worth it why not.

If they are not within safe limits, then 300 mhz wouldn't be worth it in my opinion.

In my mind if you are able to do 4.5ghz stable, with ok temps and voltages, might as well stick with it.
What are your voltages right now. I would say anything up to 1.4volts is good for a 24/7 clock.

Sandy Bridge safe voltage is 1.52 vcore.

Yes, I know this. But 1.4 is a good point for if you want 24/7 because it normally yields good temps and is well below that "max" voltage.

1.44 is ok too if you have the cooling to do it.

Go for it. I got my 2500k to 4.8 @ 1.35 and my temps were 55c max during IBT. It starts to get warm once you go past 1.4v.
