So, i recently bought a LG M2280D-PZ screen, and i when im seeing a dark image or a poor light sceen for more then 3 seconds my monitor/tv goes black... Now i do know that this is to save energy, but i would like to remove this to play some games or see some movies...

it should be on the OSD of the monitor, not in power settings.

these are the settings on the monitors OSD, not the computer. Turn off anything like auto-backlight
post #5 of 9
It is the contrast settings, old monitor was called dynamic contrast, new one is x contrast look for something to do with the contrast settings.

I have the same problem... When there is a dark scene or picture displayed without any bright elements this monitor just turns off after around 5 seconds until anything brighter appears again (for example mouse cursor)... This can totally interrupt or ruin playing game or watching movie/cutscene etc...

Here is example close to threshold at which it stops fading but still does (when i put it on full-screen using paint and hide mouse beyond edge)...
Of course power saving and dynamic contrast are disabled & i also tried drivers and color profile from lg site...
Anyone know how to stop this piece of junk from doing this :/ ?

I have the same problem. Dinamic Contrast is disabled when the monitor is in "PC" mode. Turn on "Smart Energy Saving" solve the problem, but this way the bright images gets too bright and dark images gets too dark. Would best to have an option to turn off dynamic contrast even in "PC" mode
