Then how does it compare to MLAA, CSAA, and SSAA? They all seem the same to me

It's DX9 only. Even in DX9 games it can cause some of them to crash and others to malfunction. It's just some dude's project and at its beta stage at that. You're expecting too much.

Yeah FXAA and MLAA are like "inferior" but faster post-process SSAA. Things look smooth, blended and soft.

It's too blurry for my liking. I prefer MSAA, but this might make a nice alternative where MSAA won't work.

Yeah it seems the AA that mimics SSAA tend to look a lot smoother and blended look than we are used to.

Regular MSAA just applies to the edges of polygons. Everything else is untouched. On the other hand, SSAA is applied to transparent and shader textures too. That is why the colors and image looks so much softer.

In the Witcher 2, Ubersampling is very similar to SSAA. Ubersampling is much more blurry and softer looking than MSAA.

I just did a few experiments and adding this seem's to improve the overall Anti Aliasing seen on screen:

#define FXAA_QUALITY__PRESET 39
//#define FXAA_QUALITY__PRESET 39

Add that to shader.fx. Just open the file as a readme.

FXAA is not vendor specific so it should.

With some games it has no effect whatsoever. I tried it with Bulletstorm and it made the screen really dark.

Edit: Sorry i messed up. The menu's appear dark, but the actual gameplay is normal and AA works to full effect.

For borderlands it's dark in the menus and dark ingame as well.
