GA p35 ds3r .. no post no video

Hi guys,

I was just doing a routine clean up of my system air blowing dust off my computer after which my setup failed to boot. I cleaned up the cpu applied some fresh AS-5 and tried different video cards , ram and psu. Only thing I havent tried is changing the cpu.
When I turn on the computer it fires up with fans running and after about 5 sec (once the cpu fan starts running) whole thing shuts off. I have rechecked everything that I could. What could be the problem. ? This was actually my first mobo, and I can't rest knowing whats wrong with it . It was working absolutely fine before I turned it off for the last time. NO overclocked CPU/ram/ or video card for last 1 year. Everything was running stock.
Its stuck in reboot loop. Iver also tried clearing the cmos but no change.
Any suggestions or help would be great and really appreciated.

Again specs -
MObo: GA-P35-DS3R
CPU: E7300
Ram: Corsair XMS2 2 x 2gb
PSU: Thermaltake 550w
GPU: EVGA 8800GT
HDD: 640gb WD

Update.

Just added some as5 to NB too. But still doesn't seem to have any effect. Seems like the mobo isn't taking the power to boot. I do not see and video signal, nor do I hear any beep. Seems like something is shorting the board before it gets into post. Guys I would really appreciate some suggestions as to what could have gone wrong. I have run through everything in my mind trying to figure it out. Any wild guesses ? I know most this is a dated board and not many ppl have it. But still any suggestion would broaden my scope of diagnoses.

Thanks

I have a similar board, the Gigabyte P43-ES3G. It likes to do that too, Unfortunately you have tried everything that I often have to do to get mine running. Did that board come with any jumpers in place?

Don't hate me but make sure the 4 pin's in (I've done it, Anyone is capible of forgetting)
Also I switch off the power from the back and pull the power cord for a few minutes between attempts. Eventually, I'm in.

Another thing is AS5 is conductive.. Perhaps you are shorting something.

Thanks for the reply. The board did not come with any jumpers but I had jumpers from another board. I do connect the 24pin and 4 pin. But with both connected I got infinite loop reboot. But I also tried booting with just the 24pin. The mobo ran, did not reboot, nor beeped. Had the fans running but still no post nor video signal.

I will try cleaning the as5 and use something else just in case. again thanks for the response.

Again remove the power cord between attempts for a minute, That's ultimately what I have to do to get my Gigabyte to work often.

Wow I have the same RAM in my Gigabyte (well I atually don't use the Gigabyte P-43 anymore but I did for a while) and often had to use one stick to get in aswell. Yea check your AS5 application very very closely. As you said, It worked before you did that fine...
