I thought I would take a moment to address some of the questions asked in this thread:
1-if you want to make sure you are getting the real ATH-M50, order from an authorized dealer. All authorized dealers are listed here:http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/site/1e22eec97c088a8b/index.html
and the dealer will display the Audio Technica dealer logo with a unique number on the logo.
If you get a set of these that are legit, but you purchase from someone who it not a dealer, Audio Technica does not have to offer you a warranty.
2-There has been a recent bump in the "street" price on these, because the manufacturer has started enforcing MAP (minimum advertized pricing). If you are waiting to get them until the price comes down again, you may have a long wait.
3-I have personally listen to many sets of headphones, and these are easily worth the $159 price AT feels they should sell for - or more - IMHO, of course.
I don't want to mention our price, because I don't want this to be considered advertizing. I really just want to clarify a few things.
Questions to me directly are welcome!
Hope this helps!
