intel lan ethernet port

Thread Starter
Hi, I just finished building my first rig and I was connecting it to the internet when I realised there were 2 ethernet ports on the rear i/o one is an intel lan port and the other a normal ethernet port, I was just wondering what the difference was. Motherboard is a p8p67 evo. Thanks.

No difference except drivers. They should both be Intel ports too. My WS Revolution has 2 ports as well. The one you use to connect to the internet doesn't matter.

One of his LAN ports is an Intel and the other is a Realtek. Only the Maximus IV and WS Revolution come with two Intel NIC's.
