RL Money AH works for me because its optional.
Agreed.

I don't mind being able to make some side cash while playing either. It's a huge plus for me since in WoW I have over 200k gold with nothing of interest to spend it on. It would be nice if I could sell that in-game without having to go to third parties which I wont since that's how people get hacked.

Ease of use will hopefully deter this. Blizzard will be a trusted mediator, which is worth the dollar or less I'm betting they charge.

Even server side stuff can be hacked. I knew a guy who played an MMO in which the drops and items were server side only. He found a workaround to make extremely good weapons and sold them for cash. Made well over $2000 in one summer by just hacking the game.

Never got caught, either. Seems like Diablo 3 is dead before it starts.

I would actually hope it would be less than that. In the screens you see items selling for 2.21 or so. Makes me think they take a quarter to post the sale and a quarter after its sold.

Region specific Auction houses might be the only saving grace. However we can play old school and actually finish NM,hell runs over and over for drops like the good old days and give a big middle finger to Blizz's auction house idea. Bottom line though, if Blizz had not implemented this we would have a huge black market for it with 32984294823 websites dedicated to getting our dollar for drops.
Yeah, i was looking forward to two games, D3 and Guild Wars 2. Now it is only Guild Wars 2. D3 is ruined for me.

I was going to buy this game but now I will not. Just as I do not touch any Ubisoft games, even the ones without the always on DRM. To me that is the height of hating your customer, the only real reason to not allow even single player to be played offline is to stop pirates. Not that it will of course. But in the meantime if my network goes down, if my ISP has an outage, if I go on vacation somewhere with my laptop and I don't have Internet access, hell, if Blizzard in 8 years decides that there is not enough interest in the game and pulls the servers, boom, that $60 game doesn't work anymore.

We need to get educated enough as gamers about this form of DRM and angry enough that we DON'T buy these games. We review bomb. We comment in articles, we sign online reviews, we e-mail Ubisoft and Blizzard and Activision. Its these largest actors of all in this business who are pushing the most customer unfriendly business decisions. That is exactly what they are, they aren't game design decisions, they aren't developer decisions, these are purely business decisions, the decision to inconvenience you in the so far un-winnable war on pirates.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Agree with bold statements. Constant connection is terrible and wrong. That is just so sad.. is the game even going to feature single player?? (don't need to answer that, I'm sure it will, but this is absurd).

-.-
