Uh, I think you missed the part where Blizzard charges a fee for posting the auction, and then takes a cut when an item is sold.

No thanks.

This was happening anyway, Blizzard is just taking its cut now.

I don't like this, but I understand why they're at least doing no offline mode. They don't want you to hack the game outside of the Eye of Sauron, and then sell hacked goods on the marketplace. It makes sense, but I still don't like it.
seems stupid, and no offline mode also seems stupid. dare i say it, I might not buy this game now.

Oh well, safe to say Diablo 3 is ruined.

This was a definite purchase, now it's gone straight to a no buy. I saw this coming, being Activision n all. I didn't think it would be this soon, or with a title such as Diablo 3. Idiots.

They've screwed it up this far i don't see why they should stop there. They should announce that Diablo 3 will include real advertisements on in-game posters. And have billboards littered across the game.

Being acquired by Activision may have something do with this, I don't know, I do know I haven't bought a Blizzard game since the early 2000's.
i half expected something like this when activision acquired them.

Yeah I was about to say... how is this a big deal? It's obviously to put down the majority of item selling sites. There was no reliable way to get high-level items in Diablo 2 outside of buying them from sites, or trading your way to it on sites like D2JSP.

PVP is going to be all about who spent the most money on their game, though.

Just shows ur knowledge.

Activision didn't acquire Blizzard. Vivendi parent company owning Blizzard merged with Activion.

And just to say for the 500th:

Quote:
Activision and Blizzard Entertainment still exist as separate entities. The holding company does not publish games under its central name and instead uses. Blizzard retained its autonomy and corporate leadership.
