I would drop down to the 2500k, even if you need the HT for rendering and such, it's such a better value imho at $100 less.

you miss the point, he has the 2600k from the retail edge program, no point changing to a different proc.

WD RE drives are for 24/7 operation. I honestly would just get a Spinpoint F3 or WD Black 1TB, assuming this isn't going to be on 'working' 24/7.

oh i had no idea. i really know little about hard drives, i just assumed i wanted 64mb cache, and that was the cheapest option. i will playing battlefield 3 off this drive and didnt want to skimp too hard on it.

it certainly will not be 24/7 use. will i have wasted my money if i keep the drive? will the cache help at all for games? and will it be bad for the drive to boot an OS from on a daily basis?

Go for the Samsung Spinpoint F3 or WD Caviar black, whichever one is cheaper. If you keep the drive you will waste little money, but its only around a 10-20 dollar difference if I may recall. Will the cache help for games? No. a 32mb cache would do just as well, but having more cache like 64mb isnt bad either.

Will it be bad to boot OS on a daily basis? Not at all.

Also, in your build there is an i7-2600k, if your using this for gaming you might as well go down to an i5-2500k and save some money. The 2600k is good only if you are going to utilize the hyperthreading it has. Everything is good in the build otherwise.

Actually, Seasonic is as good as corsair and the sort. I wouldn't say no to Seasonic.
