ok i have moded my PCI-E 1x slot and my GPU is currently in it and all is working fine

drivers installed with no issues going to run some tests to check performance
here is validation

http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/usw99/
but so far its looking good
so again this mod is proven to work

(side note)
Im looking for a single slot HD 4850-1GB needs to be single slot as you can tell from image not much space on my mobo
between PCI-E x16 & 1x

(edit 1)

just ran GTA 4 EFLC
lost about 10FPS everything high lowered shadows down to med gained 3-5FPS

Its been confirmed to work for a long time If you take a look on ebay, there are quite a few HD 4850 single slot versions available for ~ $50 - just make sure that you have good airflow into your case, and know that its going to be pretty loud

i know it was already confirmed just didnot know if it would work with my GPU & motherboard last time it was confirmed with Nvidia 8600-8800 and some others

yay i can now crossfire and gain some performance may not be a massive amount but still worth it
