MSI Z68-GD65 GEN3 vs ASUS P8Z68 V PRO

Thread Starter
So I live in Singapore so prices here vary compared to the US but

For the MSI it costs: $467 bundled with i5 2500K

For the ASUS it costs : $500 bundled with i5 2500K

I personally am liking the MSI board since it is cheaper and it has a PCI 3 slot which may come handy in the future but there seems to be no reviews on it.

I will be OCing the i5 to around 4.0-4.5ghz 24/7

Now what are your guys opinions

Thanks

I prefer Asus. they are more reliable and really heavy-duty mobo's.

I'm acctuslly contemplating just getting the Asus P8P67 Pro, dont think the extra dollars is worth the Z68 boards. , and I've heard great review of the P8P67 pro

I opted out of an Asus board after reading the reviews on Newegg and TD. Asus is iffy with reliability in that your board might be DOA, or have something break within the first month. The MSI reviews were a lot better, so I went with the GD65 (P67, not Z68).

I find Z68 useless, even if you have an SSD, or want to use the IGP. You can easily get yourself a video card 2x as good as the IGP for less than $50, which is was the cost difference between the P67 and Z68 mobos.

I like MSI, their quality is great, looks amazing (my fav. color is blue and they use it well) and does the job. But with all the advertising Asus has gone through in that past few months, and their awesome higher end Sabertooth and Rampage mobos, their lower end mobos cause a lot of desire as well.

I like the color blue and that's what I'm making my rig , I really like the look of the MSI boards,

The P67-GD55 which is $12 cheaper than the GD65 , looks good but not sure of the differences
