"1st or 2nd week of August they should be back in stock, AMD has a shortage of the high end GPU"

this would explain why shortages seem to be out across all manufacturers - so we should be seeing retailers with replenished stock quite soon.

Fingers crossed
Good, then I won't need to keep thinking about switching to... NVidia. Ugh.

Newegg has msi 6970's in stock. I just ordered one, I'm too impatient to wait for the xfx ones to come back in stock, if they even do. them being deactivated instead of just out of stock is kind of sketchy.

Thanks for sharing, this is good to know! Now it's down to one brand in stock, lol.

Yeah I in almost same boat, I bought 2 MSI Lighitng's one of them crashed and had to send it back to them. MSI said they are out of stock and had to refund me my money back so know I am stuck with one and cannot find another one. So I decided to put mine on ebay to sell and soon as it sells I will buy some GTX580 or 570 models Not sure trying to decide on the GTX580 3gb or the GTX570 2.5bg versions.

I am with the rest of you, this has really been pissing me off. I am going from check to check buying parts for my build, and every time I pick a part I want to get it gets deactivated. The first thing for me was the video card that I originally wanted the PowerColor PCS+ 6970. That one has been deactivated for quite a while now. And it kept going on with every card I picked until there was none left that I wanted or would buy. And now memory is also starting to go the say route. I swear at this rate I will never be able to get my build done.
