Ship the CPU in the board?

Just curious, I sold my old rig, 955BE, board and ram here on OCN and was wondering the best way to ship the CPU. I was just going to leave it in the board locked down, as I no longer have the box. Would this be ok? I of course want to be sure it shows up undamaged.

Thanks!

Should be fine, just ensure the boards in an anti-static bag.

i do this with alot of 775 boards if i dont have a cover, toss a garbage celery in it and off it goes.

Iv'e got a old old old Intel board..... somewhere...... that's lurking in my bedroom..... One thinks it's sitting on top of my big metal safe....... Ones thinks it's damaged by ESD now as it hasen't moved from there in 8 years....

Good old 478 socket days lol
