I'm wondering : How much years will a 1000$ laptop last ?
Also i want to buy a laptop: ASUS G53JW-SX082D It's a good idea ?

It depends on the laptop's specs. Because you could have a $1000 editing laptop, a $1000 overpriced laptop or a $1000 gaming laptop.

Its decently spec'd and as to your question on how long it is going to last... not very long.
Laptops tend to get hotter as years pass, unless you plan on replacing the tim, I'd say around 4yrs before its overheating and ... (time to upgrade)!

Remember, if you're just going to be surfing the web then the question is invalid. But I'm taking it that you're going to be gaming (lots) and media editing.

Depends on the brand more than the price I think.

Asus was found to be the most reliable brand (along with Toshiba) in a recent study, so seems like a good choice. Toshiba is also reliable and, reputedly, Sager.

Gaming is tough on a laptop though, it may reduce longevity, especially considering the potential of overheating on a laptop.
