Need monitor suggestions.

Thread Starter
Im looking for a new gaming monitor. Looking for 24in and im capped at about 200 bucks. Im not to brand particular, but i like samsung asus and acer.

My only requirement is 75hz or higher refresh rate. I noticed most 24inch monitors are 60hz when i read about them. im not sure if most are that way or if its just inaccurate information on the websites.

Appreciate the help!

AFAIK there's no 75hz refresh rate, only 60hz and 120hz...btw 120hz monitors are usually the expensive 3d ones....you could get one for 400-500bucks i guess?

No, there is a 75hz refresh rate. My old dell monitor was @ 75hz. Really helped with screen tearing.

60Hz is pretty much standard.

For 75Hz or higher, how about Acer GD235HZ bid which has 120Hz (ready for 3D)?

You won't find what you're looking for in that price range.

I would suggest looking at the Alienware AW2310. You can get it refurbished at the dell outlet for a very reasonable price.

Good luck!

I apologize that I have not noticed your budget of US$200. My suggestion above costs US$350.

Your current monitor can afford a 75Hz refresh rate because it is displaying at a lower resolution of 1024x768 or 1280x1024. A typical 24' monitor has native 1920x1080 resolution at 60Hz (which is almost the standard). If the resolution is lowered, then many such monitors can afford 75Hz as well. But obviously this is not desirable. If you wish to have 24'' monitor displaying 1920x1080 at 75Hz, then the best bet is to get a 120Hz 3D ready monitor. But this type of monitors usually cost more than your budget.

just picked up 2 Hannspree HF225's on newegg for $110 ea. no shipping. they are 1900 x 1080 but only 60hz. So far no issues with any games. I unboxed them today and loving them so far biggrin.gif

No. Many old 1440x900 and 1280x1024 can display 75hz at native. They are older models. These days, it's mostly 60hz and 120hz.
