But I spank most of the Chinese people here in DOTA. I'm having a hard time with the Koreans. Or maybe it's just me thinking that Koreans are better at 1on1 while the Chinese has a better teamplay.

OK, but you realize by doing that, you're social life will slowly die off and while everyone else matures, you'll be a 32-year old trying to socialize with people of your age, but they'll have a hard time understanding you because while they talk investments, you'll talk about your latest guild raid, because at 8+ hours a day, it'll have turned into your "life".

I want to reach "Master" rank in the martial arts style that i have been studying. I want to pay off my house and my car and buy a motorcycle. I want to have 2 corgi dogs running around my house all the time and happy when i come home from work.

Now, see, that's a nice life to say the least.

Some people will read what i said above and go "wow thats cool" or "wow thats stupid and your a loser" or "lol kung fu master? what a joke!" and you know what.....i dont care. its my life...dont insult me just becuase your too close minded and cant see that people enjoy doing things that you dont....

Define close minded? Having witnessed the impact playing many hours of video games has had on my brother? My friends? The fact that their social ineptitude became more evident once they succumbed to the temptation of revolving their lives around video games? Please...

As for someone making fun of you doing a physical exercise such as Kung Fu, that's on them. You shouldn't let anyone get in the way of your physical progress. Letting them do so is wack. If anything, working out makes you a winner as it improves you physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Not that i want to make this thread off topic anymore than it is. But this needs to be said.

I Dont understand your logic, because there isnt any. You state that you should improve mentally, video games do that.

Just because people who play videogames (for large amounts of time) dont subscribe to your "norm" you seem to think that there life is worse or not right. Who are you to pass judgement ? Why aged 32 does your brother have to want to talk about investments ?

Let him be whoever he wants, cos we will still happily have a discussion about his latest raid aged 32

(I hope for the sake of humanity im being trolled)

Oi...I give up. I'll just say that while the game as a whole was probably aimed at casual audiences, certain aspects of it have lots of competitive merit and if you ever watch a competitive TF2 match, you'll see that it is a game with a huge skill gap.

I'll just leave this here and be on my way.

On-topic: I just read the article and the 1st place prize is $1,000,000 . I thought the entire amount of winnings at the tournament was $1,000,000...That's insane...

It's fine to play a few hours a week, but when it becomes your life, it's pathetic. My "father's" cousin came to visit us in America in 2005. He got my brother hooked on computer games (Might & Magic?) to the point where he's playing 6,7,8, and sometimes many more hours a night now (World of Warcraft). That's not normal, and it shows in your social life. Your "friends" are basement dwellers playing the same dorky game that's preventing you from getting laid.

This isn't a troll, and it's backed up by my previous posts (in the COD/BF discussion thread) where I've mentioned my stance on video games. It's fine if you play up to an hour a day (average) -- 7 hours a week -- because you are going to find time where you've got nothing better to do. However, are you really trying to tell me devoting your life to pixels on a screen isn't a tad bit sad? Couldn't that time be spent doing something that benefits your family, you, and/or the environment? Imagine if Einstein had spent his time trying to create the first television instead of theorizing about relativity...we'd have had TVs about 50 years earlier, but would have been dumber for it. Basically, what I'm saying is, there's something much more constructive you could be doing to further advance this planet. Sports, obviously, stress the importance of health & conditioning.

You know what my goal is? I want to become wealthy and raise awareness to animal abuse, especially that of dogs & cats, because I frequently have bouts of depression when seeing / hearing about animals being tortured and/or killed. My brother's goal? To play in that damn WoW tournament where they have announcers...along with my 2 best friends (who are just as bad as he is), who got him hooked on WoW [previously he played KalOnline which was similar]. They're super duper duper duper duper good!, but I'm really REALLY not jealous LOL. I just wish people could see how they live their lives, unable to socialize properly, suffering from aggression issues, and obviously, some of them become sociopaths who torture animals and murder. Hell, half the reports about teenagers committing murder show that they're obsessed with COD before going on their rampage (yea...yea...it's "biased").

Gimme a break.
Man, you the coolest guy on the internet aye, "sup guiz, I come on enthusiast forums and tell everyone I get laid and are awesome" ********.

I think your jelly cause your not gonna win $1,000,000 for playing a computer game, ******.

And in that case, you better stop posting on overclock.net then you geek. Stop referring to WoW tornaments as well you idiot, this thread isn't about that ****, no such thing anymore either.

umad?

Yeah I agree. I also used to play competitively but it got to the point where I felt like the game wasn't fun anymore. It crossed the line between being a fun game to play with friends and a competitive game that almost felt like work. Work where you and your friends ***** and moan about why you lost a game.
