Resolution no longer fits TV after installing Windows 7

Thread Starter
I recently upgraded my computer and after installing Windows 7, I noticed that the resolution I was using with Vista before (1900x1080) no longer fits on the screen, even though the monitor I'm using is exactly the same. I have downloaded the latest nVidia drivers but this doesn't seem to have fixed the problem. Using the nVidia control panel, I managed to choose a resolution that fitted the screen: 1824x1086, but this isn't the monitor's native resolution and I don't understand why 1920 x 1080 isn't fitting my monitor any more. I'm using the mini-HDMI adapter that came with my GTX560ti to connect it to the monitor with a HDMI cable.

have you tried turning off scaling?

I don't know why the OS upgrade made a difference, but I would look in the monitor settings for a Video/PC setting.

If the TV is a 1080p TV, then I promise that it is scaling that is messing you up. That is the problem I had with my GFs 3d 1080p TV, the scaling made 1920x1080 not fit the whole screen and look all blurry. Just go to where I showed in the screen shot and try turning scaling off, and putting it to full screen.

Great, glad it worked. I have noticed that there is something different about a tv and a monitor. The scaling always screws with tvs.
