2600k OC

Thread Starter
Hey all im a first time intel user and im currently trying to oc a 2600k.

When I set cpu to 4.5 and vcore auto it tells me its running at 1.32 to 1.328.

If I manually set to 1.33 it runs prime for almost 6 hours till fail If i set to 1.335 It ran prime for close to 13hours before fail. So Im trying again at 1.34. Why is it that it tells me 1.328 but requires 1.34+(not done stressing yet). Also each time it fails, I get a hard restart or blue screen. No Rounding error or other prime error.

Also what are max safe 24/7 volts and temps for these 2600k?

Safe really up to 1.5v though you'll prob hit a temperature limit before hitting a voltage limit. Most need 1.35v or above for 4.5ghz - 4.6 - 4.8 usually requires ~ 1.4v

You should set your computer to not restart after BSOD that way you can check the reason it stopped, usually has to do with raising voltages, but can sometimes have to do with other things as well.

Ok, I think it was 000000x0124 or something along those lines.

What are the temp limits I see some people say 70, or 75 even 80.

Also are some people who oc these chips, just turning the multi up and leaving there vcore to auto?
