Hydro-graphics or hydro-dipping - Page 2

Very cool. Could you dip a component? like a video card back or something?

I think it would be cool to be able to dip something like ram sticks.

What about dipping a motherboard with clear coat on the back to prevent condensation from shorting out for extreme cooling?

you can not dip components as you are going into water, but you can dip covers and back plates of the video cards.

.. maybe .. not sure, if it was compleatly (i think i spelled that wrong and im in my 20's @_@) dry then you might be able to .. hoping extreme heat wouldnt cause it to become liquid or brittle . but shrouds and backplates for sure

it doesn't hurt stuff to get wet, you just can't power it up till it is dry.
water doesn't hurt video cards or motherboards, electricity + water is what hurts them.

you are right, but i just done know how they are applying and keeping the paint on the product, so i would just say stay in the green and go covers. but if you do get a part covered and works let me know.

hmm please do post pics as I'm anxious to see how this turns out. I've never heard of hydro painting before. I imaging there would be a semi-high risk of something going wrong though . . . if they don't get it dipped perfectly lined up. And if the image is floating in water, how do they keep it from moving it's position? Is it dipped by hand?

So many questions spring to mind. I'll have to look into this. Curiousity piqued!

Water transfer is pretty popular in the automotive industry. People 'dip' intake manifolds, wheels, valve covers, etc.

The camo version NZXT Tempest uses this for its finish.

I will def. post pics of the finished product. they keep the film in place with holders and it def. is an art form.
It is dipped either by hand or machine, depends on the person doing it.
The hardest part is trying to pick out the pattern you want, gosh it is hard, literally hundreds of different patterns.
http://www.liquidprintone.com/ just got to film gallery and you have special and standard.
