Preparing 4 BD, Upgrades?

Thread Starter
I'm starting to look at some upgrades for my build to prepare for the release of BD FX-8180. I will have a 500$ budget per week, this week I plan on getting something but I'm undecided. So I came here ^_^.

Current Build:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor @ 4.0Ghz
MOBO: M4A88TD-M/USB3
GFX: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 @ 950 CC
MEM:8GB 1600Mhz DDR3 G.Skill Sniper 7-8-7-24 dual channel
HDD/SDD:64GB Corsair SSD Performance 3 6.0gbps /2TB Raid 0
PSU:Antec 750 Watt

CURRENT IDEAS:
I was looking at 16GB ram (8GB more of g.skill sniper) and the ASUS Crosshair V Formula mobo)

Overall I'm looking to increase my performance, still finding games a little on the slower end of the stick. I don't mind some OC tips either ^_^ My comp sits infront of the A/C all day so it stays pretty cold.

Any Help, guidence and ideas is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Just what you already know, a new AM3+ 990FX chipset board. I would wait and get a board with a BD at the same time.

Ah okay, I wanted something to hold me over till BD comes out. So if I end up saving I would probably end up doing MOBO+BD+ SLI 580's which would probably do the trick

Ah, okay. SLI'ing 580's would hopefully do the trick for this upcoming game, so much rendering. I saw a video of it the other day. You know how crysis first came out, it was too far advanced for the home user, kinda like that but 10x worse. Anyways that's getting off topic lol

I would rather sink teeth into the saber tooth thats a sweet looking board
I am still debating high end six core or low end eight core both will probably have more than enough to handle 2 gfx cards at stock speeds.was going to go 1333 for gaming as it seems that is best speed for gaming rigs that i have seen.

You do know that AMD southen island gpu's are coming out somewhere between september-november. Might be better choice to wait for latest and greatest.

I'm going to build a new system , for LAN gaming, and I dunno if I'm going to build
A AMD system now and upgrade to bulldozer, or turn to the dark side and go for Intel that
is out now...
I really like AMD though and the bulldozer will surely find its way home in my current system..

I would only go for 16gb RAM if you multitask a lot,or have some background stuff running while gaming. but then again if you got cash go for it

580sli will be awesome , I'm in great envy of you

Edit: how strong PSU is needed for sli 580?

Well the 750 watt I have now would barely run that thing. It has all the adapters for the SLI but doesn't mean that it will handle two 580's. I'll pack a 1000 watt for reassurance. Due to the fact I bought 2 WD 1TB black dual processor @ $99.99 a piece for raid 0 to match my current setup lol. Basically I have to gut my comp for BD. The only things staying is HD's/SSD,Case, Video Card and ram lol.
I will take pictures for you to melt with, when the time comes for the 8 core + SLI 580's hahaha
