I know there has been a lot of stuff going around about Kal-El but according to nvidia's road map Tegra 3 should be released in Fall 2011 (sept. 23 or later in US / Canada).

Now, when approx. can we see T3 Powered tablets? Any guesses, as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is still not here yet in Canada (Aug. 19th Release) and does that basically mean they're will be a new gen. in a couple months or will it take more than 6 months to see new tablets (like time it took for GT 10.1 to be released.)?

please vote above! drum.gif I know we don't need another argument but I think the poll should speak for it self... clean up time ...

I just ordered an ASUS Transformer 16gb + Dock for 499, will be here on wed. I'm going to keep it!

Hardware makers want this out as much as nVidia does. Since they have been sampling these to manufacturers since MWC, I'd say we will see them as soon as they are available. Definitely before the holiday season. The new transformer is rumored to be one of the T3 front runners. My next device I think biggrin.gif

Yeah, manufacturers are eager to out the new Kal-El tablets by Christmas; ASUS for example has ordered a ton of stuff from Nvidia in building the successor to the Eee Pad Transformer.

Awesome... Now it's making me feel like I should return the Transformer in the 14 day time frame I have.

I'm curious about this as well. I'm very close to buying the Iconia W500 for strictly note taking and internet browsing. The only thing holding me back is that Kal El is so close to release.

I'm pretty sure that manufactures (ie. Samsung) won't be rolling out new tablets until mid 2012. They haven't even released the gt 10.1 in Canada yet.

It took a couple months before we even saw some popular tablets released with tegra 2. It would make no sense to be seeing a new Galaxy Tab in a couple months from now.

Same goes for Iconia Tab. The transformer situation is a little bit different, by the time Kal-El is released it will be ~6months of the transformer being on market. That is what worries me, stick with it and two months down the road there is a new, way more powerful version or return the transformer and wait.

It's going to be up to quad core. Meaning, I wouldn't be surprised to see a T3 Dual core in phones as well as quad core.

Yet they've been around in the US/parts of Europe for 5 months almost. Don't base things on a Canadian release. Think about this. You're a manufacturer. You have had the chips for 5 months. Your competitors have the chip for 5 months. You know if you don't release a tablet with Tegra 3, they will, and fast. Will you let yourself be at that competitive disadvantage? Didn't think so. Besides, with an official nVidia statement saying

I'd be willing to bet that they will be out this fall. Sorry.

Once the XOOM released, they most likely had a window of exclusivity on honeycomb. No manufacturer would release a Tegra 2 tablet without it, so they waited. Things are picking up speed in the tablet world. Look what happened to phones.

The Iconia was out at a similiar time as the transformer for most parts of the world. Besides, you're now changing your argument. So are we going to see a T3 transformer soon? What about a XOOM? Or the Iconia? G-slate? So many devices that came out very early on in the honeycomb game. You can bet they all want an ICS device with quadcore Tegra 3. Really, I wouldn't be surprised if it took time to get a new Tab 10.1/8.9 out (mainly due to thinness), and the Thrive/Lenovo tablets probably won't get that refresh either in any hurry due to the fact that they are out late. But I am willing to bet, Tegra 3, before the holiday season, at least 3 tablets, at least one with ICS.
