I'd say get the Samsung, but it's out of stock.

A friend of mine has both.

I only put the links up to show the specs of each monitor.

I can't stand the bezel on that first one. I know it shouldn't matter too much, but there's no way I could ignore how ugly it is.

To be honest, I actually like the look of the asus monitor.

I was thinking the asus monitor since it has a faster response time, the contrast ratio is way better than the samsung monitor, and the colours will be a lot nicer.

Plus, going above 1920x1080 while playing games really stresses out your GPU.

Are these things worth it over the samsung? The only thing I see the samsung better in is that the resolution can be used to put two 1024 windows side by side.

Let me know!

If I HAD to buy one of those two monitors, I'd probably go with the ASUS for the exact reasons you just mentioned. Faster response time, better contrast, and more desirable resolution (for gaming, at least). Also, it's LED backlit which is always a plus.

How much are you paying your friend (just curious)?
