Need MSI Afterburner Help

Thread Starter
I downloaded the MSI Afterburner utility off of the MSI website and I use the setting to overclock my GPU, but 3DMark11 isn't seeing any increase in FPS. I tried to down the Beta off of Guru, but it says every time I try files are missing, and it wont work. So until the Beta get officially released it looks like I wont be able to increase Volts.

Yes I did, and I even saved it as a profile.

Do you have GPU-Z?
Even with an overclock like that, you may not see framerate increase in 3DMark.

Run GPU-Z and if says the clocks are what you set them too, then it is what it is.

Ok, gimme a second.

Okay, Shader and Core Clock are correct, but memory isn't. It's default clock was 2000, and it's just showing 1150.

NVM, GPU-z said it may show lower numbers because of low idle clock settings.

Keep in mind that the only clocks that read differenct from Afterburner and GPU-Z is 'memory'.

Example your 2220Mhz memory in Afterburner will read 1110Mhz Memory in GPU-Z. Not sure why the discrepancy but it is.

The Core and Shader read acurate.

Well shouldn't my small overclock increase my Extreme 3DMark11 FPS? Also it seems I have hit my maximum overclock, as any increase makes the GPU crash, but it recovers before a BSOD happens. So unless I can get the Beta to work on my comp, I'm stuck.

It's a benchmarking program. The more you give it, the more it takes. So it may require unreachable overclocks to see any gain.

Revert to stock, play a game and check your FPS. Then overclock and try again. That should show results.
