Need MSI Afterburner Help - Page 4

Furmark should be renamed 'Burnmark'. Over clock to high and run that stress test, you might just end up knowing what VRM frying smells like.

In all honesty, a 20% over clock on any card for a benchmark is really a lot in my opinion. Regardless the card. Some over clock a bit better but unless under water your going to hit a ceiling and knowing what the ceiling is can be the difference.

I got a 19% gain on my EVGA GTX 580 @ 923Mhz core with 1.1000v bump and hit 3DMARK11 score of 7617. I've seen with a heavily over clocked high end CPU with GTX 570 reach my score. He couldn't pass it but, BOY, what an over clock.

I run my card 13% over clock 24/7 with default voltage. It's a safe OC and what more can I ask for. You should bump up incrementially and when you hit that ceiling with small voltage bump, know when to call it a day.

Use GPU-Z to find out what the percentage of your over clock is through validation and once you keep hitting instability, you'll know your specific limit. Each card varies.

Nothing is wrong with 3DMark11, sometimes a small bump in OC is a small score gain. Rembmer it's not just GPU power being benched but CPU with GPU combined score on part of the bench.

Good luck.

Find something that shows real time voltage of your card, like CPUID HWmonitor or even GPU-Z (added in FurMark).
Increase in increments and use it as a guide.

GPU-z isn't showing me the Voltage.

Is 920MHz on air a safe 24/7 overclock, I did 3DMark11 all the way through, and it didn't crash.

EDIT: Is the VDDC my voltage, because I'm at .9120 currently.

What temps are you hitting?
And it may be stable in 3DMark, but it could crash in game. You need something that'll give it a good test. FurMark for 30mins is 'stable' to me.

Try CPUID HWMonitor. It'll show temps and voltages of everything.

I found the voltages, but it says VDDC, is that my core voltage? My temps under load is 57c-58c
