Can't enable crossfire 5870 10.10e

As title says, I simply can't. It's nowhere to be seen on CCC.

On CCC > Information Center > graphics hardware
it says Primary adapter for the first card and for the second it says "Disabled adapter"

I have just installed these drivers...
I used to have always the latest installed on my system, but I decided to google for which one was the best for my cards, since it's been a while since now drivers actually improved anything to the 5XXX series. Research pointed to 10.10e.

I have tried the Von guy modded drivers and they resulted in an epic fail.
Should I just ONCE again, reinstall 10.10e?
(to install it, I completely removed everything from amd and nvidia, then installed 10.10 and finally 10.10e)

AMD/ATI will definitely not have me as a costumer from now on when it comes to video cards.

yes. yes. yes.

I can try anything now. Is there a way to edit windows registry and enable it!?!?!?

I have tested with no bridge.
Bridge on first connector. Bridge on second connector.
Bridge on first connector upside down. Bridge on second connector upside down.
No bridge upside down too!

So many hours. I wanna go to sleep, but not before I get over forever with this driver thing, if possible and not in valve's time.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez
As mentioned on first post, I always used the latest drivers.

Every time AMD releases a new driver the 6000 series get a boost in performance and the 5000 an older get degraded performance and a buggier environment.
Why the hell do they make me choose for my card series if it's just the same driver for everyone of them? It's not like they care to keep any stable version of it available to us.....

...o_O?
Just try 11.7/11.8 preview

Here's what I did...turn off system, switch off PSU, switch it back on, boot and WAHLA enable crossfire option was back.

^This only happened to me on drivers prior to 11.2 (I think)

EDIT: Yes I do believe you can set it through the registry. The setting is likely to be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\ControlSet001\\Control \\Class\\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 (ATI driver reg key location)

Oh and disable ULPS while you're at it (EnableULPS--change value to 0)

EDIT 2: Check if GPU-Z says "Crossfire disabled (2 GPUs available)" or something along those lines.

everybody says that those 10.10e are the best for my 5870s.

I believe because since then the changelogs only states benefits for the 6000s series.

OK... CF working now. What I did was uninstall EVERYTHING ONE MORE TIME and install just 10.10e, without 10.10.

Problem now is I don't have OpenCL enabled.

I guess I will have to live with it, or try something later.

What do I lose without openCL enabled? I mean, in real world. Is there any daily application that can take advantage of it?
