Phenom 1055t overclocking.

Thread Starter
I recently obtained a coolermaster V8 heatsink so I decided to overclock a bit. Problem is that at 4.0 GHZ or higher my computer will BSOD itself to hell and it's a overall train wreck. I can do 3.5 GHZ with no crashes.

PSU: Antec 1200 watts
Mobo: Asus m4n98td evo
cpu: phenom II 1055t
ram: g.skill ripjaws 2x2gb 1600mhz.

Also how are you achieving this 4.0? What bios settings.

That's 4.2ghz, not 4ghz. Have you adjusted your HT-link frequency, NB frequency and Memory frequency back to stock levels?

Also you shouldn't just jump to 4.2ghz like that, you need to slowly get there and experiment how good your chip does. What's the voltage at 3.5ghz?

1.6 is alot of voltage...lol. I would try around 4ghz at 1.45-1.47 and see what happens.

Don't go over 1.55 volts...

Coolermaster v8. 25 degrees idle 30-35 while playing mid range games.

Watch this and see if this helps. Make sure you have the most updated bios for your board.
