Stay away from XFX tho, as they are shady with warranty often denying warranty claims for false reasons.
Thank you. I've also heard lately that XFX is cheaping out on their cards. This giving not as good OC's as other brands.

Yea mate, personally for a single card id shell out another 100 or so to get a non ref 570 from playtech.

I hate that playtech restocking fee b$. I mean the store isnt so bad in terms of rma and warranty but has horrible service sometimes.. Once i was helping my mate build his rigg and he dropped 870 bucks on that place. I went home with him to help him build it but it turned out the mobo wasnt compatible with 125w cpu's. It was a 780 chipset so i assumed it would have no problems and it had all those support logo's of Phenom II's on it with no mention of 95w cpu's only. We both went back the next day and they tried to charge us a restocking fee... I mean common, the dude just spent almost 1k there and he wont give us a replacement for a partially falsely advertised product? I was almost at the point of yelling at that manager and finally he noticed it wasnt worth the drama i was creating inside the store. Eventually we got to swap it out for another mobo.
This is why i dont like most of their staff members, some are really nice though.

Just thought i would like to share my story hahaha

Well, the chances of you not being able to unlock a HD 6950 is pretty low considering that many here have unlocked and overclocked the HD 6950's. that, and you save 100$ bro!

IMO, Get the HD 6950.

Yeah well I better not get charged a restocking fee as it won't have been opened and is a brand new item they sent me as a replacement for an RMA. I spent $500 odd last year on two 5770s and now I'm telling them I'm gonna spend another $400 odd on a new GPU. I'll throw a tanty in the store after driving all the way over there if they don't have what I want.

Fingers crossed the non-reference one I get (Sapphire dual cooler) will unlock. Not getting my hopes up though.

Oh Dude, Sapphire RULES.

I can bet you will be able to unlock by flashing the BIOS. What you should do Is get a little loop just for that HD 6950.

When I get a new board, and my GTS 250 Back, I'll grab another one and put them both under water, and overvolt/OVERCLOCK THE CRAP OUT OF THEM.

Is there any known volt mods for the 6950s?
