Get an AX 850 if you want to be sure. Look all over youtube, you can find tons of videos of AX850s running GTX 580s Sli (2-way) with overclocked cpus. If you want to go future-proofing, den get a 1000W. HX850 shld be fine imo.

Yeah I suppose getting the HX850 would be good but then again I am really looking for Modular connecting to save up on some space.

What do you mean by "don't do sli or crossfire? Are you saying that I shouldn't run SLI while running 3dvision?

i7 950 @ 4.0 GHz will not really bottleneck most games with 2-way 580 SLI. If you go 3-way 580 SLI, it is possible. You would want around 4.4 GHz or more with Nehalem or Sandy Bridge for 3-way 580 SLI.

You can't play Metro at 32xAA. There is only AAA and 4xMSAA, chosen through the game. Forcing AA via NVCP does nothing in Metro. Just so you know ... you were running the level you chose in the game

And to answer the OP's question, the degree of CPU bottlenecking you'll get depends on what test you run (i.e. what game/bench) and what settings you run that test at (i.e. what res/AA/IQ settings).

IOW, there's no yes/no answer possible with this question, as it's entirely situational. And it also depends on your personal definition of a 'bottleneck'. Everyone seems to like to just make up their own, so w/o knowing yours, it's especially difficult to answer this question.

Two 580's is definitely overkill for 1080p resolution though

Sorry,
Tridef,iz3d does'nt support crossfire or sli, only nvidia 3d vision supports sli.

I very nearly went xfire or sli but then found out that tridef and iz3d do'nt support either and considering most the games released rather do'nt work correctly in 3d for awhile after release or they do'nt work with sli then you very well may find yourself using 3dvision with 1 card.
If i had enough money this would'nt of bothered me but to pay money to have something sitting in ya pc not being used was too much for me.

Have had nearly a year in the 3d spotlight and this is what i think tobe true but then it is only my opinion.
