I know TwoCables mentioned a trick with Crysis (Don't remember if it was Crysis 2).

He said If you start the game in full-screen, then use ALT+Enter to go in Windowed mode, and then back again to full screen, the gameplay would be more fluid and perform better.

Well I don't know whats up, I snagged Majins run off the benchmark thread....

Stock 580 lightnings are 11.8% faster there, which means my 470s are slightly under-performing. It still looks like a cpu bottleneck in his too, but his clock rate is slightly lower... Also Skyline ran tri and gained fps overclocking even though none of his gpus ever touched 99% usage ever.

Can't be a true cpu bottleneck, can it? SLI driver issue then?

Edit: Tess bottleneck? Eh?

You can't call a CPU bottleneck without seeing what the CPU usage is - plain and simple. Unless CPU usage is maxed out, you can pretty much know its not a CPU bottleneck.

There are other variables in benchmarking like how many background processes are running, if a virus scan just started, how much the benchmark depends on IO speeds of a HDD or if they run out of memory only, Memory latencies, etc.

There is no All-holy-truth of " *Blank card* is XX% faster than *Blank other card* and if I don't have that then I have a problem." I fully understand the desire for better performance, but you seem to be hung up on a discrepancy of a couple of percent. That is not enough to be noticeable and unless your suicide running an OC or making it a 24/7 folder, every last percent DOESN'T ALWAYS matter. Gaming is about how fluid it is, not being 81.5fps instead of 79fps.

If you're that worried about a CPU bottleneck, just drop the money on a 2600k and ignore EVERYBODY who says a 2500K is sufficient to play every game on the market (which it is). Or you can listen to people about resetting parts to stock and post usage of GPU and CPUs and actually work with us on finding an issue - also, find a CPU monitor that lets you see loading per thread.

Anyways, I kind of got a bit of performance back.

My main concern right now is that from DX9 to DX11 + High Res I lost a lot of dual gpu scaling.

I noticed at 900 core my score goes up a bit, but in a lot of places the fps is the same as it was a 850 core.

I don't really know what to make of it, driver issue or what. I'm not sure about vram limitation because I get 50 fps with a single gpu in the first test, and 42 in the last. Anything is possible though unless I can disprove it.

The cpu usage is lower than what I got for a max before, but in no way is the game quad core optimized.

As I said though my biggest concern is the large hit to scaling I got from going single to dual in DX11 compared to DX9.

Here is single at the same clocks:

Here is the DX9 scaling I saw, which is where my issue comes from. Notice the game is clearly capable of pushing higher fps than what I seem to be limited to currently.

Here is my usage before with DX9:

This is what I got for cpu total usage with low res/iq:

Edit: Scratch this thread, I retested at the lowest res and fps are capped at 100 both in DX9 and DX11. Not sure what is going on but I'll venture over to the gpu forums for more information. Thanks again!
