Version of the PCI-E bus interface

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I have a little "problem" with my PCI-E bus interface.

When I launch the GPU-Z soft, my Bus Interface indicate PCI-E 2.0x16 @ x16 2.0 (Seems normal)
But after a couple of seconds, my Bus Interface indicate PCI-E x16 @ x16 (Seems strange)

Why this? Is it an hardware problem on my system or is it simply a GPU-Z bug?

Thank you for response
Here are the screens...

Do you notice any performance issues in games and benchmarks?

Have a score of P6677 in 3D Mark 11... Think it's a good one. No performance issues noticed but if the problem exist from the beggining I can't compare with a start point...

I will do another 3D Mark 11 bench, will see...

More informations : Couple of seconds after the change, the PCI-E 2.0x16 @ x16 2.0 reappear and then disapear... It seems unstable.

It's probably a link mode power saving feature. There is little point in running the bus the fastest it can go at all times, even when it's not doing much of anything.

Try keeping GPU-Z up and load the card (play a game or run a benchmark in a window), and see if it bumps back up to 2.0. If it does, this is normal and you don't have anything to worry about.

You can compare your GPU score to the GPU score in this review Guru3d review to get an idea of the performance you should be getting.

It seems to be the reason! If I launch a game, the bus interface came in 2.0 automatically. Thank you
