Creative Gigaworks S750 Question

Hi All,
I have been having this set for about a year and a half and two times i had the blown fuse issue (No matter how many times you replace the fuse it just blows after turning on the control pod).

Now im thinking of taking all the cercuits out and getting an external amp. If i do get an external amp can i directly connect the subwoofer's two wires to it or do i have to put somekind of cercuit? Also im using the analogue outputs of my X-Fi and will it be alright going in for a amp or a more expensive reciever?

Does amps come in 5.1 or 7.1

I also need a recomendation of the wattage of the Amp. The sub only is capable of about 200W Rms.

Thanks in advance.
