Like you say, their justification is bunk. Used game sales don't increase the number of active users at all

The reason I'm against this is on the consoles you can buy and sell your games to recoup some of the cost but you never can do that on a pc

This definitely affects the console crowd pretty heavily. Won't really do much to the PC crowd as it's attached to your Origin account which can follow you from system to system.

What like someone would actually trade this game in after they buy it? pfft...

Seriously though I don't care, PC games haven't had resale value in over a decade.

Who cares? Buy a copy for PC. Show of hands, how many people here buy used PC games? When you buy it new, you'll get to play for free, so it doesn't matter. This is probably slated more toward console copies since there's a large market for used games.

And yes, gaming servers ARE expensive to run. It's not just "oh, here's a new nick to enter." They have to process and serve the games up for everyone playing.

PC games aren't 70 bucks.

Such a non-issue but people will get up in arms about it anyway. Just like when DICE announced they are not including mod tools with the game.

Isn't this more about EA capitalizing on the used game market? They already started this with online games requiring a $10 fee if you buy it used... I assume that's what this is? Granted, they should just come out and say it rather than make stuff up, but still, this will affect literally zero people here since we're all buying the PC version, and we all know you can't buy those used.
