Hello Im obviously looking to play Bf3 in the near future, I dont have a lot of money to spare so I did some upgrading. Heres my rig ( with the upgrades )
Amd phenom II 940 3.0ghz quad core

I know the upgrades werent much I got a new cpu and Ram

The question is will this run Bf3 decently?

I would suggest getting DDR3 memory... how much are you looking to / willing to spend upgrading because there is definitely room for improvement.

I mean Im not to Insane with my gaming, I run Bad Company Decently some settings high and medium. I cannot afford to Upgrade to Ddr3 and AM3. I was thinking the main upgrade I can do is my graphics card. Im debating the AMD 6870.

So to be clear, you are thinking of these upgrades or do you have them already?

Well in that case I'd go for a newer gpu like the 6870 you mentioned. I'm sure something around that level would run bf3 good enough.

If your not looking into maxing out the game or anything, I think it will run fine. Your probably not going to upgrade your ram or cpu considering u just did, but I guess you can still get a better gfx card, whats your power supply?

he says he did some upgrading, im assuming the rig is current,

im not sure the Ph2 will handle a 6870 stock without a bottleneck,

id say get a 6850 and a better CPU cooler and see how far you can OC the two

thats prob the best you can do atm

Going with the same DDR2 ram is not really upgrade. Now CPU is a upgrade. Your best was to get a new mobo with DDR3 support, that will be more of a benefit.

Ok I guess, I have a good High end AVERAGE system right now. I do not have a lot of money I want to squeeze another year or two out of this one Till I cannot Stand looking at it. The 5870 is like $185 to $200 which is not a HUGE investment.
