Do you play or can recommend WWII strategy games?

-realtime or turn based
-battle level and not large scale (world wide)
-graphics don't matter
-prefer steam (or freeware)
-I've played company of heros and ruse but didn't really like either
good examples are Panzer General and Red Alert (the original red alert). I'd prefer quick battles without a lot of micro management. I'm not looking for something overly complicated and challenging with a steep learning curve but if the game is worth it and looks good I'll put in the time. I'm just wondering if OCN'ers might know of any indie WWII games I might never of heard of.

Red Alert is free but not compatible with 64bit windows. I also only have a small SSD so don't have the room to run a virtual OS. To play Red Alert I'd have to stick it on some random PC and remote desktop into that PC. No big deal, I just don't feel like doing all that right now.

You know what good ideas bring! Thanks OCN

Long time ago Sudden Strike was the best, I don't really know of any newer games on WWII.. Company of heroes? Not sure it's WWII though.

World In Conflict is a great cold-war RTS with modern graphics, you can try that too
